Having just reviewed the 10 Year, I tackle the Cask Strength 12 Year offering from Springbank and also discuss the unusual three-still system they use at Springbank and how it differs for their Longrow and Hazelburn offerings. There’s no denying that this particular offering, was not what I expected…in a good way…

The Longbranch offering from Wild Turkey was the result of a collaboration with actor Matthew McConaughey who was their creative director at the time. It’s filtered through Mesquite Charcoal and aged for about 8 years…is that enough for it to stand out from the crowd?

The 23rd Street Distillery located on 23rd Street in Renmark, South Australia opened on the 23rd of September, 2016. Since then they’ve started making waves in the local industry and I grabbed a sample of their entry-level offering that they call a Hybrid Whisky. What the heck does that mean? It’s different that’s for sure…

Having watched many, many videos of people debating the pros and cons of the popular Whisky colouring agent E150A, I managed to snag myself a bottle to put myself to a blind taste test in two rounds. The first round with coloured tap water and the second with Glenmorangie 10 Year Single Malt with E150A added. Out of the six possible combinations…how many did I pick correctly? Let’s settle this once and for all…can you actually taste this stuff in your Whisky?

My biggest head to head yet, I pit the mighty Macallan 18 Year Sherry Oak Single Malt against the Glendronach 18 Year Allardice Single Malt. I love them both dearly, but with the Macallan more than double the price, is it truly worth the extra money? This is one for the books and one I’ll never forget.

This episode I do a side-by-side-by-side review of three incredible 15 Year Single Malt Scotches…the Tamdhu, the Glendronach and the GlenAllachie. This review is perhaps the toughest I’ve ever attempted since they are all so very, very close in terms of balance, palete, mouthfeel, nose and finish. It was extremely difficult to pick a winner, but pick one…I did. I also answered the bonus question…if you could only afford to buy two of them, which one wouldn’t you buy? My conclusion may surprise you.
